British Military Authority

    Here's a note that I found interesting mostly because I like items that are off the beaten path.
    A British Military Authority 1 shilling note.
    It appears that all face values were printed in 1943, i.e., WWII.
    I believe the "E" is the series indicator.
    Maybe worth $5 in this condition.
    Never encountered this before:

    I guess they are the British equivalent of US MPC's.

    No. They are the equivalent of US yellow seal notes.
