This is ostensibly a three pence sutler token used by Britain's 85th Light Foot Regiment.

It is pewter and roughly half-dollar sized, with a reeded edge. This example was found in Sackett's Harbor, NY. Recall that the 85th LF regiment left Sackett's Harbor to attack (and burn) Washington, DC during the War of 1812. Hoping this piece is connected to that sequence of events.

But, I haven't found anything on Brits' use of sutler tokens. Any help/thoughts??

    Thanks.
