I keep finding these mini globs of a waxy substance while roll searching pennies. Anybody have any idea what this is? I was wondering if it might be associated with the method they use to sort them cause I haven't found diddly in rolls lately and am really noticing this wax buildup of whatever it is. Thanks in advance!

No...no pics. I haven't perfected the taking pics thing yet. The wax, or whatever it is, hardened grease maybe, is pretty much in every box I get. Sometimes it's almost clear, sometimes it's almost black, but it's throughout the boxes. Either it's simple, excessive grease that hardened from the mechanical process they use to sort, or I was thinking, maybe they coat the coins with this stuff so then they consequently stick to a moving belt or something, or maybe it increase the conductivity electrically for scanning. I don't know but, lately, can't find any darn thing of even nominal value.

I have noticed that sometimes the cents were stuck together with something black.
