Brand new large cent rapid attribution guide!!!

I am excited to announce the publication of my first book: Early Date US Large Cent Rapid Attribution Guide, Volume 1 (1793 - 1797)!!!

This is a new reference designed to make attributions fast and efficient for beginners to experienced collectors. Contained within for each year are summary sheets for all of the significant die states, variety isolation flowcharts, and full-image die pairing charts. For issues with 15 varieties or more, there are also summary sheets of instantly recognizable diagnostics to help with attributing coins from memory. Also included is a discussion on the modern high-quality die transfer counterfeit large cents with images and diagnostics. In addition, I provide a new perspective on how to tell apart subtypes (heads of 1793/1794/1795, etc.).

All of these tools are included in 186 affordable pages of color-printed goodness!

I used Amazon as my publisher so that there is no print limit. I wanted an affordable large cent guide to be available to anyone who wanted one.

Volume 2 (1798-1814) is in the works and will be available in the first half of 2021.

I have various dates. Can't wait for the one's from .. well 1801 to 1856 if it will go that far

 

I'm with sensible my early cents/half cents range form 1798 to the braided hair cents around the 1850s i can wait until volume 2 is released.

 

My question being a Metal detectorist is what if I find a coin that's say in less desirable condition ? Will I still be able to identify it if it's in say G detail's ?

 

I designed the guide with worn coins in mind, like down to AG/FR. Most other guides aren’t overly helpful in that regard

G should still have enough meat on the bone for this guide to be helpful, unless it is completely roached or hit by a plow too many times. Even so, it will point you in the right direction based on what is visible, even if it can’t 100% ID the variety
