Branch mint one-year-wonders … name one.

Idea is to name a major coin type produced by a branch mint for only one year prior to 1999. Must be a type intended for circulation in the U.S. … patterns, commems, bullion, proofs, errors, colonial, confederation, confederate, territorial and world coins don’t count. Differing varieties and composition differences don’t count. Name the type, year and mint. If possible, include a photo.

I’ll lead off with the 1921-D Morgan dollar.

    May Fool!

The Philadelphia Mint sent Three Dollar Gold Piece dies to the Charlotte Mint, but they let them rust and never used them!

Here you go. But I don't think this coin was intended for circulation.

Yeah, it was part of a mint set, but it was a circulation strike. So, take your choice.

How about any of the 1976 coins. Here is silver proof set:

Yup, though lovely, the proofs are excluded per the OP, but the circulation strikes count.

You all did great! Mentioned some I didn't know. But there are at least 4 more. Hint: They were all minted in the first 1 or 2 years the particular branch mints were open.

A few, now extremely valuable, 1838-O half dollars were also struck.

1909 S VDB was less than a 1 year wonder. Sorry I don't have one to show.

1879-O Double Eagle was the only With Motto Double Eagle struck at the New Orleans mint. Only 2325 were struck, creating an instant rarity, although not nearly as much so as the 1856-O. Here’s the PCGS MS62 which I think is finest known:

I consider the 1909-S VDB cent and 1879-O double eagle to be varieties rather than major types. But other folks may have a different opinion, which I respect.

There are still four very clear examples that haven't been mentioned.
