OK so I posted this in "What's is Worth" with no answers..
Also I have had some bad luck this week with my post..
I want to say thanks to all who answered but.. wow.. what I thought were simple questions really got a bit heated ..

We all have seen how nuts the year has been for Lincoln Cents.. Love It!!
Well I made sure to keep 1 N.F. String Box of each design.. Full 50 rolls each.. All Denver Mint.
What I want to know is opinions on if I should sell the Lot now on EBAY..
(Prices are still pretty good.. Well .. so so ) OR hold them for a few more years.. 5 - 10 years down the road then sell..

    What would you do..
I would be using the Money half for more coins and half the the kids XMas.. (Thinking of getting the little Monkeys a XBox360... At least they will still be playing with it in a year)

    DingDing.. and Fight!

Oh ya.. and A Full Box of 2008D Last Year Memorial(?) to go with it.

I think that they have peaked, if it were me I would sell now, but I am not wedded to that opinion.

Yea I'd go ahead and sell before the mintages get out... and watch em be pretty high and that whole 'rare' thing dissipate, anyway I would sell them, then go to the bank and get another box or two... whatever you can get, keep until minatges are released, then decide from there (no harm done because you bought em at face).

    Hope this helps.

    1. As already noted sell them now.
    2. Stop worring about it and send them all to me.
    3. Put them in one of those Salvation Army kettles.
    4. Place on your front porch if you have one and send me the address.
    5. Take to a grade school and hand to a teacher and tell her/him to
give them to the kids and explain who Lincoln was.
    6. Spend them as if they were just money. You've heard of that, haven't
    you?

Not to be boring but a long time ago myself and a friend collected those Bicentennial Quarters. We both figured that in the future they would be worth a fortune. Not long ago at a coin show I was offered $0.24/each. I think that dealer was trying to tell me something. They all ended up in a banks counting machine.

LOL 24 cents a piece. Now THAT is funny! As far as the coins go you can't lose money on them except for inflation. And I'm in the 'sell now' camp. I really can't understand WHY people are willing to pay ten dollars a roll but hey, it's their money. And you should get the kids a PS3 instead. That thing does a lot more than just play video games.

I face the same dilemma with a box of LP1 P's that I picked up recently. I have been planning on putting them on eBay to help me offset the cost of picking up a few LP 3 and 4 rolls to tuck away. Time has not been on my side but maybe tomorrow I can finally get them listed.

Good Luck ~ I think you will do well on the newest and the value will decrease by release (3, then 2, then 1) from there.

My experience with modern coins: Sell now while they are still the "hot item".

Next year there will be some other "hot item" coins and the price of your cents will only drop.

    1. keep them
    2. sell on Ebay
    3. Crack the rolls open and look for the ms67+ coins.

#3 would be a good idea if you have a lot of time and enjoy looking at a lot of coins. I'd guess that you'd come up with at least a few superb gems.

    some are doing this:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-Lincoln-Lo...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item3a55300192

I do not see ANY ms67 business strike 2009 cents on Ebay. I bet they would bring pretty good money.
