Halves are what I would get

  4. Welcome to CT! :welcome: If you are looking for silver, then go with the halves. If you are looking to fill a state quarter album with circulated examples then go with the quarters. :) TC

Typically banks do not have boxes of halves on hand for people to buy, they need to be ordered. Don't surprised if they look at you funny when you ask for a box of halves. I would then ask for 2 boxes of dimes $250 each, you'll have a better shot at finding something silver. People are pulling .333 silver per $500 box of Q's. I have been thru $1k in Q's and have not found a silver yet. My silver dime avg. is 1.5 per $250.

I called around and my local bank of america has boxes of halves though she says they are probably new. I asked her about dimes and she really doesn't know if the dimes are circulated or not. She thinks most of them are circulated but isn't sure. Any advice?

If your bank has a box of halfs go for it as the mint only sells roll sets and
$100.00 bags via mail order to collectors and dealers been like that since
2001 if they have no halfs go for the dimes

Well, I sure doubt they're new. If they were, then you'd be able to sell them for a profit, most likely. But, unless they paid over face and bought them from the mint, those halves are not new.

I agree with the others, the halves are not "new". What is even better is that it seems like the teller has no idea what she is talking about which means she is probably not culling the silver that comes...good news for you! Let us know what they come up with for ya. I'd like to see how "new" those halves are.
