1000 coins. Not one silver or even a 40%. My guess is that the days of pulling silver out of rolls is over.
Take a break for awhile. I search cents, and every once in awhile I get a bust box, with maybe 5 wheats etc. Then I will take a break for a couple of weeks, start up again, then I find 27 wheats including a 1920.
Don't despair... did you read Gatzdon's thread about his bank quarters find? http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=37794&highlight=karma Things like this happen when you least expect it!
A guy I know just hit the mother-load. 32 90%ers, 127 40%ers out of only $100 in halves. Oh yeah, plus 3 Franklins. Someone must have cashed in a bunch of old halves or something. He went back and got another $300, which look fairly promising. Still waiting to hear the result on those.
Have gone thru 25K+ in halves since Thanksgiving. It's boom and bust. Best finds were 104 90%, 102 40% in one box 81 of which were Franklins. Found a bank that had $1050, $680 of which were bulk, pulled 274 40% and 51 90% w/4 Frank's and a Walker. Have found 6 walkers total, 100+ Franklins. But, I've also gone thru 6 boxes and found only 4. Found 2 1974 D DDO's, 1 1982 P no FG, 67 S, 68 S, 69 S, 70 S, 76 S, 82 S and 84 S, and one very interesting anomaly I want to post, but I can't figure out this Model T Compaq Presario/Windows 98 comp I'm working with. Keeps telling me to contact my administrator. Working on that.
Danr. They are still out there , some times thats the way roll searching goes I have had many dry spells. However I never give up, there is still a lot of silver out there and if you don't search someone else will ,hang in there. Bruce.
Yeah, you'll have better days. I found a silver dime in circulation a week ago or so... so don't give up hope!
I did get a weird 1983 hald that is gold (in color) and has other dates stamped on it. Like this one. http://www.ioffer.com/i/Gold-Plated-1983-Kennedy-half-dollar-12457183
