..on ebay. I cashed in my clad coins and bought this for $130.00. Just curious as to what you guys would grade it at. It does have quite a few little scratches on her face and neck as you can see in the pic. The back is in great condition. What ya think?
Kind of tough to grade, but I don't see many signs of wear. This one might be a split grade EF/AU. The reverse does look much nicer than the obverse. Just guessing, though.
Lots of bagmarks, but that is pretty common. The reverse certainly looks like a sharp AU-55 or possibly AU-58. The Obverse however is only going to receive an XF. Since the Obverse carries the most weight in the current grading standards, I believe that this coin would end up in a slab as XF-$40 or XF-45. The scratches will kill the grade. Now take into account that this is grading via a pic. Seeing the coin in person may result in a different opinion. Especially if the coin has seen a cleaning or if the scratches are extra deep.
