    It's a slug. It would be better to just throw it in the ocean and forget you ever bought it.

    While I agree with Mat that this is "a slug" - the stag looks potentially identifiable with Ionia, Ephesos...

    which combined with other information like:
    - where in the world did this come from
    - what does it weigh
    - what diameter
    and other clues might get you in the right neighborhood - with low confidence that it is ancient or a coin...

    It could be just about anything at this point. Hopefully the bezel is sterling silver
