I had a blast as a dealer from my area took me around and introduced me to several coin dealers. I met Dave Bowers and Dave Sundman at the Stack's table! Mr.Bowers signed his book I bought at the Whitman table on V Nickels. I also saw the 1933 $20 gold piece as well as coins from the Smithsonian! I bought a certified 1902 MS-64 NGC V nickels from Stack's. This is going to start the best collection of V nickels ever assembled I hope. I also saw The Penny Lady and looked at her stock. All in all yesterday(Thursday) was a great day!
A great time was had by all It sounds like you had a great time. I had a sticker on my show badge which said "Do you CoinTalk". I only met one other coin talker in Boston. I was very happy to meet 900fine at his booth. I was fortunate to see his 50 cent coins & patterns in person. I too had a couple books signed at the show. The good Dr. Bart signed his error currency book for me & Alan Herbert signed over a copy of his error coin book. This was all accomplished on Tuesday. I also gleaned the bourse floor on Wednesday. I think that most CT folks arrived after I left Wednesday night. Most of my purchases would be classified as coins of the world so I hope to eventually post photos in the Ancient & World forum. I did purchase one US coin but that was technically at the Heritage auction after I left Boston. (I got their 1960 PF66 50 cent with the DDR). Here is the Heritage thumbnail photo.
Please post a photo of your new Liberty Nickel. MS64 and proof 64 are great grades for a Liberty nickel collection IMO. Of course, the 1913 is a little elusive. We should definitely get together sometime to talk over Liberty nickel collecting. Maybe we could meet at one of the upcoming Westchester coin shows. I'm based in CT. Let's talk by PM.
