My wife has taken an interest in coins from the UK and we were wondering if there were any good books about them. Thanks, David
Depends, which time period are we talking about ? One of the most popular is Coins of England and the United Kingdom by Spink. But it also depends on what information you want out of the book. There is always the Standard Catalog of World Coins by Krause. And if you wish, check the Numimsatic Resources section under countries, you'll find a lot of info there.
i still havent found my rare book after visiting the sites you mentioned for over 2 months now help!!! before its too late
Yup, and if you take the time to look in the Numismatic Resources section under Books - you will find some of those people. Of course you have to take the time to contact them and ask them to do so.
i did but most of them have come back with a lemon. there are dealers on 3 continents looking for that darned thing
You can order the latest edition of Coins of England and the United Kingdom directly from Spink http://www.spink.com/departments/books.asp
Have a look here if you want something fairly simple, he also does e books http://www.predecimal.com/books-collectors-printed-books-c-27_58.html
The Spink's catalogue is unrivalled for accurate pricing, but try Coincraft's standard catalogue of coins of England and the United Kingdom for something with more background information (now out of print)
