Anyone that have kids interested in coins, Joesmom, have you come across any coin books that are geared toward kids? He, my 11 yr old, does go into the kids section on the US Mint website and enjoys that, just wondering if there are any recommended books.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, I haven't come across many books for Joe. He does, however, enjoy paging through my Krause book looking at all of the different designs. Since he's only in first grade, his reading skills are still pretty limited.

I did get him a book called "Coin Count-y, Bank in a Book". What he does with that is sort through our pocket change to see what can go into his Whitman folders...whatever doesn't go he uses to fill his Coin County book. When it's all filled he has saved up $20. This accomplishes a couple of things. It encourages him to save his money (he just cashed it in last week to have more money to take to the small show today) and it gets him going through coins for his folders and looking at them closer. He's even found a few errors doing this.

And there is this kit that Joe has that's a good starter set and it includes a relatively simple book...couple this one with the Coin County book and a few rolls from the bank and you have what Joe does on a rainy day!

Amazon has another that I've been eyeing also...

    Hope some of this helps!

Well since he's 11 I would say to get him H.E Harris folders and let him start to fill them...something my dad did was every week he went to the bank and got $100 worth of change mixed and then I would go through and take out what I needed and then the next week we would cash them back in and add what little was needed to make $100 and do it again.

Also maybe get him a grading book to at least have...where I didn't have one till last year I missed out on a lot of fun.
