I have a few family members that have asked what I want for Christmas, I don't think having them purchase bills would be the best idea. I decided that books would be the safest bet. I would be interested in hearing any suggestions as to titles I should tell them. I have listed a few below that I am looking at, feel free to add/subtract to/from the list- (At this point I only own "Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money" by Cuhaj) Standard Catalog Of U.S. Obsolete Bank Notes ($159) http://cgi.ebay.com/Standard-Catalog-U-S-Obsolete-Bank-Notes-4-Cd-Set-/300493320993?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible&hash=item45f6cc3321 NATIONAL BANK NOTES ($75) http://www.donckelly.com/books.html 100 Greatest American Currency Notes ($23) http://www.amazon.com/100-Greatest-American-Currency-Notes/dp/0794820069 Obsolete Paper Money ($51) http://www.amazon.com/Obsolete-Paper-Money-Appreciation-Numismatist/dp/0794822037/ref=pd_sim_b_3 History Of The United States Mint and Its Coinage ($16) http://www.amazon.com/History-United-States-Mint-Coinage/dp/0794819729/ref=pd_sim_b_17
Last Christmas my mom got me the Krause catalog of current world notes. That is one heavy book! Highly recommended, if you collect world notes. I have one of the other three volumes on my list for this year. I'll let her pick if she chooses to go that route
