i know that a pair on each side of a serial number is a bookend. What would 3 of a kind be called? Is it worth anything? Thanks!

Still considered a bookend - Quote "Bookends occur when the same sequence of digits can be found at both ends of the serial number. For example, in the serial number 52194521, "521" is the sequence of digits occuring at both the beginning and end of the number and are called "bookends." Serial numbers 62043620 and 14555514 are bookend notes." unquote

    It's a larger "Bookend"!

If you like it, keep it......but otherwise I would call this bookend BS a "reach".

    Just my opinion.

Bookends in paper money almost always refer to the notes surrounding a feature note - say, if you had an error note, the bookends would be the notes serialized before and after. Or, say, with a changeover pair, the bookends would be the serials immediately before and after the changeover pair.

The human mind fetishes numerology to the point where every serial number is somehow a "thing", rather than just a number...
