35 mm 24.96 grams Silver The Bolivia, 1 boliviano of 1871 imaged below, appears to be an over date with the 1 punched over a 0(zero). In addition, the ‘8’ appears to be re-punched at the bottom. The coin itself, exhibits many die cracks on both sides as well as die clashing, most evident on the reverse; strike weakness is evident at at the Potosi monogram mintmark. A rim cud is visible above ‘UNION’ on the reverse and die crumbling is visible above the eagle on the obverse. Evidence of die rust is also evident on both sides. The coin also exhibits several areas on each side where the field is displaced due to the die cracks; several areas on the reverse exhibit multiple such displacements in the same area such that the displacements abut each other. This item appears to be an error coin as well as an overdate? Is this the coin listed in Krause under K155.3? If additional images will help, please request and I will try to supply them.
