Blue toning?

Searched for WAMs in a huge jar full of newer pennies. Found no WAMs, but found two interesting coins. One is my favorite, a 1968-S penny with blue toning around the bust and the rim (I think so):smile. Does the coin have blue toning, or is it paint?

The second one is a 1997-D penny, that is maybe struck through grease. Is this a legit error?

Probably ran through the wash cycle. Detergent will turn copper pretty colors.

    +1 to Bob's comments above.

A strikethrough is a "genuine" error, but people won't pay for it if that's why you asked what you did.

Anyway, I've decided to keep both of them, cause if I spend them, well, I don't know what I can buy with 2 cents nowadays.

Now that's blue! I like the toning on that coin better than mine.

What's weird, about the coins in the jar, is that there are similar date coins with the same laundry thing, and I have a 1999-D (really dirty) that has the exact same "error" in the same place.
