Blue Toned 1964 Proof Nickel - old ANACS slab

    Here’s a peculiar little piece that recently came my way. Bizarre perfectly even blue toning on obverse and reverse of this clad nickel. Must have happened in the original mint packaging. Never seen anything like it.

    1960 ~64 proofs had some nice toning blue as well pastel rainbow. And yes the orginal mint pack caused thie tone.

    I normally don't care for toning, but I like that one.

    I'd stretch the date range to 1956 to 1967. Though they were more common between '58-'64.

    That is a beautiful Jefferson Doug two thumbs up.
    I really love the wet look proofs on the nickel and cents...I know most like their proof frosty ,but a nice wet looking specimen are so pretty. Thanks for the follow up post.
