blue ridge parkway...what is this?

I make no claims this is anything. I happened to notice it and thought maybe a lamination? then I found another. so now I am curious. any ideas or facts as to what it is? thanks in advance.

A very small blob by one of the flowers.

 

in the 2nd pic you can see that it doesn't look like your typical die chip. and as blob does describe what it looks like and just doesn't quite say what it actually is. we are making progress though.

 

looks like a die gouge from the pictures.

 

People complain about how some of us nitpick about spelling and grammar, yet nary a day goes by that someone doesn't post a 50x photo of a minor blob or crack.

Gosh, I am not certain, but it looks like something slightly dug into that area.

 

Maybe it is because some of us here just have so much fun at analyzing little things. Ha, ha!

 

......and that's why so many newcomers think they've hit the mother lode or spend too much for their FleaBay finds.

nary a day?? I already know it is nothing. first sentence in the OP pretty much said that. being I found it on more than one coin I simply wanted to know what it is. making a claim that something is something when it is not is one thing. wanting to learn a little more about what things are and how they happen is educational.

 

people do say I OVER analyze things. not always a bad thing.

 

I must admit, I am having a lot of fun reading this dispute, but I don't want to be accused of being a troll, so I will shut up now and just keep on reading! Ha, ha, ha!!!
