Blank quarter or slug? Has copper color on rim?

G hi, just found this coin. Looks like a quarter, but is blank. My first thought was its a slug, but it has the copper color around the rim like a real quarter. Would someone go through that effort for a slug?

Yup, an unstruck planchet. It's been through the upset mill, but never made it into the press. Not a lot of value, but it's a keeper.

 

Can I ask where you found it. I take it, a roll?

I had a blank cent planchet that I found while roll searching eons ago. I think it fetched a pretty decent price when I sold it on eBay, so your blank planchet definitely has some value.
