Here I have a blank 3 blank planchets and 1 unknown. It is 19mm around, 1.9 (just short of 2mm) (same as Quarter) and weighs 6.55 Grams. Is this also a blank planchet. The rim and size makes me think quarter; however 6.55 Grams. Thats way off. Maybe another country? insight appreciated.
Your size does not make sense. 19 mm around would be 6.05 mm in diameter or smaller than a silver three cent piece. 19 mm in diameter would be the same size as a Lincoln cent and it is obviously larger than the cent planchets you have.
I am new to coin talk and still trying to navigate thru pages. I would like to post an unusual error that is major but dont know how. Can you help me out?
I realize this is a 2 year old post: In response to a 7 year old thread. But I have to disagree that proof quarter planchets would weigh 6.5 grams. The blank is showing copper, and would be almost 1 gram lighter at 5.67 g. Please educate me if I am wrong.
