blank penny

    have anyone heard of or seen a blank penny? and what's it worth?

    Well, not really...
    Price range on these would be about under $10 for both copper or zinc

    You can actually buy these in bulk from some dealers for less than fifty cents each.

    I have one. Paid a little too much for it ($2 at coin club auction), but no regrets, I thought it was cool.

    By the way, how would you tell if it is copper or zinc?

    Yep, it's just a blank penny planchet. Not worth a whole lot, but it's a keeper. :thumb:

    I find them interesting! :D

    Yep, you have to weigh it. Copper will be around 3.1 and a zinc will be around 2.5.

    Cool ......I am puttung a blank planchet type set together ..modern only
    I am getting close, I have 1c, 5c, 10c ,and 25c ...looking for a half which I think may be a bit harder to come by.
