bizarre 1946 error?????!!!!

    i found this penny in a roll i had. Not sure whats going on with it. Can see doubling or tripling. Possible ddo and ddr... really odd coloring, any ideas? almost think i see the reverse on the obverse

    ...just wear and damage over the life of the coin. It looks like it may have been polished and may also still have some gunk on it...jmho...Spark

    This coin has seen 75 years of circulation wear and tear. How can you see anything that may have been created at the Mint through all of that?

    Much of the "doubling" you see is Die Deterioration Damage due to overuse of the die and resulting spread towards the perimeter of the coin. In these cents, the L in liberty can be a characteristic when it is close to the edge. No Added Value (NAV) however . IMO, Jim
