http://cgi.ebay.com/Currency-Portfo...ryZ39475QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Cheap little binder to start off. Will this hurt the banknotes? I will look at getting a good binder here in a few months when I start to get some notes of value. -Gangsta99
I have one of those. For a starter book I think it would be ok. No way to expand it so you are stuck with what is there.
I have never used one of those...but I just made my own. I spent a really long time looking around for the right thing and I finally put something together that I really like. I bought Ultra Pro Platinum 3-Pocket pages like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Ultra-Pro-P...ryZ26378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I bought a pack of clear archival sleeves like these (from this same seller) except I got the sleeves for the large size currency, not the small size currency. Even though I collect small size notes, the large sleeves fit perfectly into the pages where as the small size are very lose and fall out easily. http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Clear-Archi...ryZ40029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Then, I got a nice quality binder. These are all archival safe and when they are combined, the pages remain rigid enough to protect the bills but not too thick to make the pages hard to use. I'm really happy with the setup. Its a little bit more expensive, but you can move the currency around really easily, its expandable, and easily customized to whatever suits your collection. I hope this helps.
About the same thing I use, although I use both large (3 pockets to a page) and small (4 pockets to a page) sheets to hold currency, since I have a pretty wide variety of sizes; both US and world notes. If what I have ever fills up guess can always start a second binder... maybe make one the US one and the other the world one...
I basicly use the same set up as above, the binder you showed initialy does limit you but might be handy if you intend to visit shows.
any binder will work for the most part .. its the currency sleevs that do the most damage if not the correct type. do a search on CoinTalk for currency sleeves... there has been a good lengthy discussion about all the different types and which ar good and possibly not so good
