How guys, just wanted to share a trio of pieces from my minimal paper money collection. So, here we go:

We have here, a silver certificate circa 1957 (series 1957 B) in fair to okay condition. Next is a 1985 10 dollar bill in very good condition. Lastly is the 5 dollar bill, also from 1985 in good condition.

I didn't purchase a single one of these, my dad was given the silver certificate when doing lacrosse registrations a while back, and gave this to me; and the other two were given to me at various stores (The five dollar bill I got at Macy's, and you should have seen the cashiers face when I practically leaped on top of her to get the old bill.)

Now here comes the fun part, do any of you know the worth of these things (sixteen dollars is not an acceptable answer...). In addition, do any of you have anything pertaining to this in your collection? I have more, I just don't want to show them just yet. Just wanted to know, thanks for reading and replying.

Because these are all circulated bills, I would think the silver certificate may be worth a couple bucks and the other 2 face value. $17?

If the 1985 $10 is uncirculated, you might get a few dollars over face value - lets call it $12.

The $5 in that condition is worth face value.

The $1 silver certificate is worth about $3.

So my estimate is about $20 to the right buyer.

And that is to the right person and if the $10 is uncirculated.

I would put the silver certificate in a holder made for such and spend the rest on numismatic supplies or coins.

  7. A smart thing for you to do with that $ 20.00 bucks would be to buy a book on currency.
