Any thoughts on these values? I purchased these all from the same person, who inherited them from his father. I can take better photos but I thought these would give you enough to toss out a value or two. @Paddy54 thought you'd like to see them on CT. 1. 1780 Thaler 2. 1777 8 Real 3. 1892 Mexico 8 Reales 4. 1798 8 Reales 5. 1780 Thaler 6. 1921-D Morgan Dollar VAM 1B1?
21 D is a nice capped R nice find. 1892 8 reales looks like pvc 1798 8 reales I'm really liking . Nice batch of coins. I know nada on Thaler's though the 1870 looks real to me.
Brandon I believe that you did very well on these as far as price to value. You still got meat on the bone as I'm just considering 3 of the batch as being more than your outlay.
Thanks, I haven't told anyone but you what I paid, but I think it was a good value overall. I think both Thalers are restrikes based on the diagnostics, but the toned one has a nice die crack through it on the reverse. I think I'm going to keep the 1798 as my Type Coin for my World Type Set.
At least you can arrest further decline, although it might involve using acetone as if it were free. Only the 1921 is within my competence; it's a nice late 1B1. Crazy just how long the die pair survived striking these things with so many cracks. Look closer at it; you'll see cracks all over the place which are overshadowed by the "big" ones. Oh, and here's all you need for Maria Theresa Thalers: http://www.theresia.name/en/ "Description of Variants" is where you want to be. Yours looks like a mid-20th Century London strike. You're welcome.
