lol....had to look, didnt ya! seriously, found a 1970 Lincoln today and noticed Abe had a very large ear. This is the best pic my crapamera would take..grrr sorry The ear extends to the level of half way up his forhead.
Thanks for the laugh Your photo is hard to see as I'm sure your realize. Based on what I can see it does not seem that abnormal. When next to an equally worn coin does it still seem larger than normal. Do you have a way to look at it under magnification and if so do you see anything abnormal? I will try to take some photos of a 70 from my big jar. I'll post them to compare yours against. GL Darryl
Lol, rofl, and a whole lot more, lol. Thanks for the laugh. Hard to tell by the pics, IMHO, but looks normal. Does your camera have a macro setting? It would be a button with a flower on it. But, still neat finding a US cent in Canada. :thumb: Phoenix
Oh you guys...you know my camera stinks. That pic I got shooting through a magnifying glass. I just went through my penny jar, had about 30 lincolns in it...none with an ear that large...lol It looks close to your 1970 one but 'sticks out' more. It is very noticeable to the naked eye. Phoenix, Lincolns cents are as common here as our penny...so if your mint is wondering where they are..lol The other day I got another liberty nickel and a North Dakota quarter from the til What's the best camera/brand for taking pics that won't put in the poor house?
Hello Twiggs, I have a Sony FD Mavica that takes pretty good pics like this one.. I picked it up at a sale for $40.
thanks Fast The one I have is an HP Photosmart...was a gift. It won't do closeups of anything no matter what the settings Nice pic! See how the top of Lincolns ear is in line with his eyebrows....well my lincolns ear is in line with the middle of his forehead
Just looking through some cents I have here I found this one. Is the ear higher than this , it is a 1970 D.
