I was looking through my bag of wheats I had just purchased and have ben pulling out a few nice ones here and there. I was thinking it would be nice to pull a 1943 copper out. Just a few minutes later I was looking at one in my hand. It was dark toned and had a few nicks on it. Not wanting to believe anything yet, I found a magnet and unfortunatly it stuck to it. At least I did find a 1922 D later on that day while looking through my mothers coins that she wants to sell me.
At this stage of the game, I would be virtually positive that there will not be another 43 copper or even 44 steel cent found in circulation (real ones, anyway) or even in wheat bags. However, there may possibly be another in someone's stash that has not yet been made know to the numismatic community.
........i read somewhere, that there were possibly 12 in existence and their whereabouts are known. anyone else know of this?
In answer to what else was in the bag, I found about half to be from the teens twenties and thirties. Nothing spectacular but the bag was not bad either. I did however find a nice (fake) 2 headed penny.
