Hey everyone its jake again and I have returned from the weekly auction with 3 items i would like you guys to post your opinon on! First the Coins One is a 1976 Bicentinial Eisenhower Dollar and the second i dont really know much about it but what i do know is its 1973 Germany 5 Marks Sliver Proof for Copernicus. The third item cought my eye because it seems to be a set and they were very small and had different animals on them. Unfortnately i was unable to confirm the nationality of these bills they seem to have cyrillic on them but i couldnt be sure so if you can idenify them I would be very grateful!
The bills are Belarusian rubles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belarusian_ruble. And I'll tell you, that was not easy to find! First I had to look up the Cyrillic alphabet root, and what countries base their language on that. Then I had to start randomly looking up the currency from those countries. Luckily Belarus is pretty high on that list alphabetically, or it would have been much more frustrating. And luckily you wre right about the writing being Cyrillic or I would have never figured it out. Don't feel bad for not being able to find it. I couldn't find anything googling descriptions of the bills. Also, I can't be sure, but I don't think those older style bills circulate anymore.
I also have some of the Belarusian rubles (not the complete animal set like yours). I can tell you that the one with the squirrel on it is actually a 50 kapeykas (or part of the ruble). The coins are nice too.
