Hi, I was finally able to get a few photos of my coin.I had a hard time taking pics without all that reflection. So, I have a bicentennial quarter which has the 1776 and no 1976. The area where the 1976 is looks glazed over and you can see where the date is somewhat. Could this be an error? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Post Mint Damage - the coin was damaged after it left the mint. Therefore not a mint error.

Yeah, PMD. The pics are a tad bit fuzzy but my guess is someone took a dremel tool to that coin.

My guess is a grease strike through on the second date combined with roller marks from being the end coin on a very toght roll of quarters.

BTW, some folks have good luck in photographing the coin through a loupe for close up shots. It may or may not work for you as it really depends upon what type of camera you have.

Could be PMD, could be grease filled die. Pictures are not good enough to tell.
