just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up. The ebay seller coins*r*us is one crooked seller. He lists his auctions as estate quality coins. They are in fact cleaned coins. And after you leave neutral feedback, he in return leaves you negative feedback as retaliation. Needless to say my ebay days for coins are over!

If you did not file a Dispute with eBay BEFORE giving a feedback, you're stuck.

    1. See if you can work it out with the seller, in this case a full refund including S&H.
    2. If that doesn't work file a "Significantly Not As Described" (SNAD) dispute with eBay.
    3. When you win that the seller CAN'T give you a neutral or negative f/b. And you'll get your money back.

If you didn't file the dispute I think your stuck.
EBay's got the rules to help you; you just have to follow them.

can you link us to the auction?

    is this it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110193715021

I hate to sound like the devils helper. but If thats what you won? I think you can tell its cleaned just looking at it.

As for loss. Hmm I dont know if you lost a lot there. If this is the item you won. I would just ask the seller if you could work out a resolve of some sort. Its not like he states its UNCLEANED and is MS65. He says it the other way around. ITS NOT ms65.

Thats the same seller, different coin, but close enough. I responded to the seller but got no response back. Ebay has rules against retaliation negative feedback. I am not so angry as i only lost out on $5. I am more angry about the fact that i paid him next day, and was left negative feedback as a response to me leaving him neutral feedback. Being new i cant tell just yet what is authentic and what has been cleaned. I chalk it up to learning experience and call it a day.

I, too, had a problem with this seller some time ago. Sent a coin other than the one pictured. Had a little trouble(he is quite asrrogant), but did get a refund.

    e-bay

I've only made a few transactions on e-bay and each time I felt that I had gotten the worst of the deal. I bought the ASE 20th anniversary set and when I got it the box was crushed and the coins were loose. I think the seller had graded the coins and given me the ones that graded out the worst.

I also bought a Franklin half that I thought was overgraded and probably cleaned. It really didn't look much like the coin in the picture. I primarily deal with the local coin store or the mint.

I got some ASE's from the mint like that. all 3 sets I ordered where loss and one of the box's where crushed. So i dont know if you can blame the seller 100% for that. As for the other issue with a seller selling me a cleaned or damaged coin. I contact the seller right away before jumping all over the feed back. If im mad i give my self a little time to cool down. I tend to want to jump on a sellers face with spiked boots when i feel ripped off. But like i said , I sit back take a few deep breaths and gather my thoughts befor writing them. It has turned out better for me in the end.

I didn't give the sellers negative feedback in either case. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. In the case of the ASEs, they were selling for about $80 less than other sets so I should have known that "you get what you pay for." I chalked it up to a learning experience and will be a little more careful next time.

What does "estate quality" mean, anyway.
It's kind of like saying "restaurant quality food". It could be 4 Seasons, or it could be Taco Bell.

good point, but to be honest, taco bell can be some mighty fine dining! Especially that cheesy gordita crunch....mmmmmmm.....delicious!
