Better to be lucky than good?

As you may know if you saw my recent post about New Zealand dollars, I am collecting a set of New Zealand coins, and recently I saw a 2003 1 dollar come up. I didn't do any research on it, but I didn't have that date so I bid. It was a Lord of the Rings series, and while I like the movie I don't really go for gimmicky coins so I just put in a low bid and figured if I didn't have to pay too much I'd take it.

Well, it arrived today, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I assumed from the photo on the auction page that it was the usual base metal New Zealand dollar and never even suspected it might be anything else. Well, having it in hand, it's obviously silver. Krause says it's 0.841 ounce of silver and the coin is valued at $70. I paid $5.50! Obviously no one else knew what it was either. It's better to be lucky than good sometimes I guess.
