I have a medium-sized collection (around 900) of genuine Chinese cast coins from 400BC to 1911, and am considering selling to raise cash for an overseas holiday.

Which is the best way to go about this? I'm reluctant to sell the coins individually via eBay - too time-consuming & too many fees. I have produced an illustrated catalogue, split into various dynasties etc with scans of obverse & reverse of each coin with weight, diameter & Hartill reference. An example can be found here:

Should I offer the collection as a whole, or do you think I should split it up?

    Ideas please.

I had been buying from you for years. Was kinda bummed when you stopped selling for a while.

I'd buy it all if I had the money.

As far as selling in large parts or as a whole I'm think simply posting on one of the trading sites might work out.

Here in Los Angeles there is a big market for ancient Chinese cash and some of the dealers are upping the price even to the point of hoarding cash to sell exclusively to East Asian buyers.
