Howdy...I'd like to trade some coins to get others and would like to know about online dealers with whom you've had success doing that. Some places require a minimum $1,000 trade-in value, but that's above what I have. I made a few good deals with Silvertowne. Any others you'd recommend?
Clint any reputable dealer will trade with you, but it depends on whether or not they need what you are offering in trade. If they don't need it, then they will likely be reluctant to do so.
Gotcha. I was looking at big name modern and bullion places, for ASEs and commems, and want to shop their inventories online. I ran into either needing to trade min. $1,000 or they didn't have much I was interested in. I will start emailing and calling them, but I was hoping to hear about other folks' good experiences. I'm just failing to understand why any deal would want to trade. Last time I traded it was my Bud Harelson for a Felix Millan card.
Well... they buy, they sell. I have something they'll pay me more for than my LCS will; I'd like something they are selling. Works for me!
One thing you can be sure of, the dealer will always believe that he is getting the better part of the deal - or there will be no deal.
Well, more importantly, the dealer will only make a deal that he believes will be most profitable for him. He might well let go of a coin he can't sell for a coin of lesser value even of a coin he can quickly unload. Ruben
