Bought $10 in pennies today after work. I was hoping to find my 3rd 1998 WAM within 2 weeks. I was shocked when I found: 1935 S; 2 1951 D; 3 1952 D; 1956; 2 1956 D; an EXCELLENT 1959, 1961 D AU; 1968 D AU; 1973 S and 1974 S. That was GREAT!!! But hold on!!! I FOUND my 3rd 1998 WAM within 2 weeks!!!!!!!! I'm stoked!!! I definetly have the CRH bug!!!
Better off buying from an online coin supplier. You will definitely save a lot of money long term. I am looking at about 1800 flips on my desk as I speak. Now, for me this might be more an indication of coin work needing to be done, but nonetheless I always place an order each year to keep my supply stock full.
Ok, here they are. I know it will be cheaper online but this was a spur of the moment thing. Can't have these just laying around.
post a video of the 1998 cent, you could be just posting the reverse of a different dated cent. Just kidding, congrats.
Lol. Believe me, I also find it crazy. I just started collecting, and I find it hard to believe that I ran across my third in two weeks. I hope this luck continues, kinda getting use to it. That just lets me know that the 99 and 2000 are a little harder to find. Thanks on the congrats.
Hey I'm not new collecting old coins, but I sadly have only ever collected 1964 coins or earlier what's so special about a wide AM? What's the value of them? I love old coin collecting. I actually came across a 1967 Nickel that has Mr Jeffersons like cutoff midway down his back. If I post a picture could someone give me some info on it?
I'm not an expert either and unfortunately I don't collect nickles. I would go out on a limb and say it was from a weak strike but that's a guess. The 1998 wide AM is popular because it was from the proof die. It was suppose to be a close AM but many were produced with the error, no exact numbers are known though. Other popular wide am's are 1999 and 2000 but the 99 is the hardest one to locate. Like everything, condition is important. You can view some examples on eBay or past auction results.
I honestly don't get this why anyone would pay for a premium a modern coin with a variety. But to each his own I guess as I don't really like modern coins and really dislike lincolns.
