This is my first post in a long time! I needed a break. But now that I'm back (hopefully for a little longer this time), I thought I would make a thread about my favorite part of the numismatics: junk boxes. For younger collectors, they offer a fun, inexpensive place for buying, and for older ones, they offer a challenge, and a "basket" of opportunities. By best find was a large cent date (I think) 1803. That is alot older than any other piece I had in my collection at the time. The dealer I bought it from marked it 1833 after crossing out the previous dealers' "18--". It has some strong damage on it of all kinds (I'm not an early coppers person), but for $6, it's a fun novelty to enjoy.
