I know, I know, eBay threads on this forum are so yesteryear but this is by far the best advertisement on eBay I've EVER seen. http://cgi.ebay.com/1921-MORGAN-DOL...35?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item53e3c6c54b I don't know if the sellers are getting smarter or if humans are getting stupider. For future readers it says: 1 SILVER DOLLAR WITH A BEAUITFUL WELL SHAPED ROUND HOLE / THE SELL PRICE IS FOR THE HOLE THE COIN IS FREE!! EVEN WITH THE NICE HOLE THE SILVER CONTENT THATS LEFT SHOULD BE MORE THAN THE PRICE,IF SILVER GOES DOWN I"LL CHARGE MORE FOR THE PRETTY HOLE
By no means would I consider myself a genius and neither would I consider myself dumb....maybe a little above average. By no means would I consider myself a Trekkie, however it is not like I never watched the show once in a while or haven't seen all the movies....so I might be a little above average in my Star Trek knowledge. By no means will I genuinely understand what this e-bay seller was thinking yet I find myself really trying to....some might say I am giving an above average effort though. Because of this I find myself raising one eyebrow and maybe slightly lowering the other while looking at my monitor quizzically and it is in this moment that I really understand what a super genius like Spock must have felt like when he seemed so dumbfounded by the actions of human beings. Regardless of whether the e-bay sellers are getting smarter or human are getting stupider, it is clear this e-bay seller thinks very little of the people that buy things on e-bay....or at least they are of an IQ far below average. And if this actually sells....well I hope he lives long and prospers!
I am considering buying this item... if I don't like the hole can I return it and keep the "free" gift?
When did stupider become a word? I think if you mock someone else for the way they write (or anything else), you may want to make sure your what you state is correct. Now I did laugh at the way it's worded and wonder what on earth are people thinking.
I would bet he has tried to sell this item before and has had a bunch of questions about the hole vs. price of the item. I would bet that he has replied in the past that the price of the item is still below spot (I am guessing), and that he has probably been met with the response that silver might drop in price, so he probably did this in jest. I personally like his approach to the ad. This is all a guess on my part.
