  1. I'm new to this forum, and I'm a new collector that started 1 month ago searching through bank rolls. I searched through a box of nickels, a few rolls of pennies and dimes, quarters, and half dollars without finding anything and they are from a wells fargo bank. Are some parts of the U.S you're more likely to find and silver?

    Best as far as...?
What exactly are you looking for? If it's just silver, you're obviously not going to find any in boxes of pennies.

Halves will probably be your best bet.

Half dollars are your best bet but I would go with dimes on a low budget if looking for silver.

    Thanks,

I probably did 10+ boxes of halves, maybe 3 silvers, and I could only get one a week from my bank (that ordered 1 per week). Halves seem to have been great in 2012, but then they became the most large scale searched coin box for silver hunters. I found 32 Walking Liberties in 2014 in a teller tray though, for face value. I have over 150 silver dimes from dime hunting done in 2013.

The silver high during 2011-13 probably knocked out most of the silver in the wild. Sure it can still be found, but it's not really worth your time for the sheer monetary value of the spot price of silver vs your time. Go ahead if you enjoy doing it as a hobby. But if you're in it to make a living you'd most likely be better off with a day job or even doing those product surveys online that pay 50 cents to a dollar per.
