I went to my local bank to look for half dollars. The teller said they had none. I told the teller I'd give her jelly donuts and she looked in the vault. She dug up about $200 in old rolls, and I gave her $200 and the jelly donuts in exchange for the rolls. Then, I came home and searched them. The first 19 rolls had no silver or varieties. Being me, and never giving up, I opened the last roll when I saw a rim that wasn't silver OR clad. It was gold. And it was huge. I pulled it out to see a Saint-Gaudens double eagle. Immediately I started jumping around with the coin in my hand. Then, I checked the date. 1927. But wait-there was a letter above the date. The letter was a D. I sent it in to NGC and it came back MS66! What are the odds! ... ... APRIL FOOLS! Obviously, this never happened.
yea, National Atheist Day (The fool said in his heart there is no God. Psalm 14) I actually had my red book open.... ya got me : )
As expected..... lol But honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this happened to someone. Some people are that lucky.
That one probably wins this year's April Fools contest, though it's neck and neck with Endeavor's football coin.
