Best Coin Magazine?

Hey guys, I was just wondering what the best magazine out there is...in your opinions. I have a copy of "Coin Prices" and just saw a copy of "Coin Worlds Coin Values". I really liked it. A co-worker is suppose to bring me some mag copy that is weekly issue he has just subscribed to. I'm sure there may be a lot more magazines on the market and would like your thoughts on them before I subscribe to one. Thank you very much.

COINage is nice. I have a gift subscription with Coin World which I am enjoying quite a bit so far.

Those are the only two I have much knowledge of.

 

I like the magazine COINS.

I think Coin World is the best. The only problem is the rip-off dealers that advertise in it.

Whatever is being given away free at the coin shows I go to.

 

Coin World....just DON'T go by the price guide that it sends....it is off most of the time. IMO

Numismatic news has a great mintage page sometimes. They all have their pros and cons except Coin Prices which has only cons.

 

I like any reading material, I just got a new magazine today, Just study the articals and be carefull with some of those dealers, I wont buy unless they have a sight with photos, cut&dry.also if they dont have any endorsments from the numismatic guilds and stuff like that DONT BUY from them, My opinion folks,I like coin world also.

 

As far as retail monthly guides it is Coin Prices for me. The values are usually correct or close enough. Only problem is not enough grades listed.

I like most all the monthly mags I've seen mostly for the educational articles on my favorite collectables and coins in general. Knowledge to me is paramount if you want to collect nice coins with little money to spend.
I really get a kick out of looking at the Littleton catalogs. I just think how nice it would be to have enough money to be willing to pay 2-3X retail to buy their coins. I am amazed that they are as successfull as they are. :goofer:

I agree. The articles are what I'm most interested in. I don't ever plan on buying from dealers listed and the price quotes are just a guide for me. It's really about the historical info and educating myself that I'm after.

 

I personally read and enjoy the weeklyNUMISMATIC NEWS. The articles and the advertisements are very interesting and informative.

 

I subscribe to numismatic news and COINS magizene but I like COINage and coin prices too.

 

Numismatic news. Comes weekly (you gotta love weekly coin news!), has lots of great articles, all the fun adds we love seeing, including a relevant and timely classified ads section. Mintage column is always nice, and it has a price insert most of the time, with current price trends. Best value for the money, I'd say. I've subscribed to them all, and only kept on with this one.

 

Both Coin World and Numismatic News are weekly, both excellent in my opinion

 

I like Coin World.

In fact, as a lad, I bought Vol. 1, No. 1. Wish I knew where it was now!
