Hi all! I'm a long term lurker around here, I've been reading these forums for years but have been hiding in the shadows haha. I'm looking for a little advice - last year I purchased an ungraded raw coin from a trusted dealer (AU Indian quarter eagle). I don't really care too much about authentication/third party opinion but I do find I don't take it out as often as my other stabbed coins mostly just because it's inconvenient, plus I worry about damage. I was looking to get it graded but all the TPGs get quite pricey for a single coin that's just not worth all that much. Could someone recommend a holder that's similar to what the TPGs use? I'm looking for something similar in size (not a flip) so I can keep it in the same box as my other slabbed coins (OCD, I know) thanks in advance, And thanks for all I've learned from you all over the years!
I’ve been using those for some time now: https://www.lighthouse.us/rectangular-coin-capsules-everslab.html Lighthouse Everslab coin holders -they’re about the same size, look & feel like the standard NGC holders. Easy to use, inert, no PVC, etc.
Maybe another option for you: https://www.amosadvantage.com/Store/Category/Coins/Holders/Certified-Slabs I’ve never tried them, because they’re not sold outside the US.
I use the Lighthouse Quickslabs myself. Similar to the Everslab mentioned above but easy to re-open (to add an attribution, for instance).
The CW "premiere" slabs are junk, at least compared to the "old ANACS" style Amos sells (or at least used to). If memory serves me, I believe they called them "standard" or something like that. If interested in a slab-like holder, they're the way to go.
