Im new to the hobby and just purchased my first silver eagle through ebay. What is the best type of slab or plastic holder that I can safely store my silver dollars in? Also, if you could direct me to a good site it would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There are several different storage options out there and I'm sure others will weigh in on their preferences....but I'll start :)

Airtites are a popular and safe way to store them and can be had for a relatively reasonable price. I purchase mine from JPs Corner
You can get either the direct fit style or choose a ring color. Really just a matter of personal preference. It is also possible to mount the individual holders into a display type book, they carry those also.

I'm also fond of the Coin World slabs which can be found here Amos Advantage
They have a nice clean look to them and you can label them as well. This is what I have done for my Eagles and am happy with the results.

Good luck in your quest, but above all else...have fun!

I like Intercept Shields for the good stuff, stuff where you want the color to stay as is:

    Also I like these too:

Any decent coin shop carry a number of these supplies. I like Amos Advantage and Brent-Krueger for my online supplies.

If you are really serious about protecting your Eagles, and I assume you are, I would highly recommend the Air Tites as I have NEVER had anything tone in one. While they may cost you around a buck apiece the feeling of knowing your "little ones" are safe and sound makes it worth while. Silver eagles require a 40mm air tite and they are AVAILABLE just about every where!!!

crystalk64...I agree, for quality you can't beat them. I get them for about 50 cents a piece from JPs Corner. The direct fit ones are nice but I REALLY like the looks of them in the ring type holders. The rings come in 5 different colors. I've given them as gifts in the various colored rings (color depending on occasion) and they've always been a BIG hit!
