Do you want to find modern minute DDO's that no one can see with the naked eye? Or, just clear photos of coins? @BooksB4Coins your pretty good with this subject.
yup, "Books" and I use the same basic cameras, but I haven't built a "stage" to shoot on, other than my microscope.
I use a basic T3i, and macro capable lens, anything more and I would think it a waste of money. I am sure some upgrades would help, But basic is fine with me.
The camera would just be for taking HD photos where details are sharp. I don't need super enlarged closeups of a mintmark, just a nice sharp date and stuff
I use a Canon XS mounted on an FD bellows mounted on an Bausch & Lomb stereo microscope stand with a small arsenal of el cheapo enlargening lenses. ( an rmpsrpms special)
Uhhhhh......yeeeeeaaaahhhhhh. Don't even know how to translate that. I have to look up each product one by one. But I am patient.
There is a really good photography section on CCF. I recommend anyone wanting to get serious about coin photography to check it out, https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=81
