What would be the best books for coin values and coin errors?

Coin errors: Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins, no question about it, is by far the most useful. Vol I is currently the 5th edition (pub. 2009) (half cents-Jefferson nickels), Vol. II (pub. 2006) is in its 4th edition (but I think the authors are working on the next one), dimes-double eagles. Written by J.T. Stanton and Bill Fivaz, both published by Whitman Publishing LLC. One sweet cherrypick at a coin show could pay for both volumes. Now, if you want to get Technical, there is a good book on modern mint technology and how errors are produced, according to the author's opinion. That is The Error Coin Encyclopedia, by Arnold Margolis and Fred Weinberg. My fourth edition is dated 2004.

    Best Regards,

    George
