I would like some opinions on the best resource (book, CD or software) for information on error coins and varieties. Some friends have recommended the Cherrypickers guide but I figured I run it past you guys:bow:.

For one book that covers the overall subject, that's about as good as you're gonna get. But no single book really covers it all - there's just too much information for that to be possible. There are several books written on the varieties and errors for each and every coin type. You'd need a whole library to cover it all.

But if you want to try for just a couple of books, the Cherrypicker's Guide and Walter Breens Encyclopedia would be good choices to start with.

GDJMSP is right Cherry Pickers is OK for general info but if you are interested in a certain series mention it and you will get more recommendations.
