the mints website is light years ahead from the BEP website. There products arent that great that they offer. Chinese new year lucky money cmon!! i ve been wanting to buy 4 uncut new $10...been temporairly out of stock for 7 months now they dont even list it. now in the coming soon they have lucky money for the year of the pig. say what you want about the mint but their website is actually pretty good.
It is not the website but the selection and avilablility you seem to take issue with. I agree that the BEP site is a bit outdated in what regard to what is on there, unavailable, etc., but compared to what used to be available from the BEP (nothing), it is a great source for some exciting collectibles. As for the Chinese notes, don't laugh. Those kinds of things are what got the BEP store really going. Several years ago someone at the BEP had the idea to offer notes with four "8"s in the serial number, knowing that the Chinese consider 8 to be a lucky number, and they soon had an order for 10,000 of the notes from China. That led to the other note and set offerings.
I personally have received some very low numbered notes from the BEP...as an example 00000472 $10* and 00000746 $20* You just have to check it almost everyday to stay on top of upcoming things... RickieB
