I have 3 1954 South Arabian 5 fils coins that are significantly bent dead in the centre top to bottom and fit nicely so as to stack neatly within each other. There's no evidence of plier marks or any other method of getting in such a state. A friend had the idea that they may have been bent due to their removal from circulation but I can find no reference to that ever happening. So what would cause that kind of damage?
