Today I received a gold Belgique coin that has 1963 on it and 20 is listed on it. I understand that Belgique is a Belgium coin but I wasn't sure where to look to find out if this is indeed a coin or a tricket because there is a hold in it that someone must have worn on a necklace. Can someone suggest where to look to find out if it's worth anything? Thanks alot.
The problem with your inquiry is that in 1963 there were no gold coins minted in Belgium with a "20" value. There were bronze 20 centimes (KM#146 with the French name "Belgique", catalog value $1 Uncirculated). There are no 1963 20 Francs listed in Krause, with either the French name or the Dutch "Belgie". In any event, once a coin has had a hole drilled in it for jewelry use, with very rare exceptions it's value is that of so much metal, and it has lost all of it's value as a numismatic item. Gold and silver do have bullion value - base metals don't.
