I Got this 1858 Flying Eagle Becker Replica. I contacted Doyle(Pete Rosa's Relative) who now runs the shop and he agreed it is one of his uncles creations. I have not seen this one anywhere and don't know if it is worth anything or if I should just Ebay the thing. Any thoughts?

I know many of you hate replicas, I just didn't know if there was a market for it. I have no intrest in them and got my fair share of chinese silver dollars but I am not sure why this company sold so many- someone must have liked them. Replicas are a headache I agree, for instance I would love to find a REAL fractional gold coin but ever since they made the replica ones thats all I am seeing.
This replica is much larger than the real coin so someone would be foolish to mistake it for a real one.
Try not to hate me for this Thread, just didn't know what to do with the thing.

What are the dimensions of the replica? And the weight?

I think replicas that are clearly differentiated are good teaching tools, and I can understand collecting them if they have varieties and errors just as you would any other piece of exonumia.

Ebay doesn't allow users to sell replicas anymore.

Funny, I just got it off Ebay. There is more fake/replica coins going thru Ebay than real ones. I complained last time I was taken and they did nothing but tell me to contact the seller.

This coin/token is just slightly bigger than a quarter and heavy. Peter Rosa's didn't make these to fool anyone, his thought was if someone couldn't afford the real coin they could at least appreciate it through his replicas. I don't understand why 1858 and not 56' the first year they were produced.
