Hello, I found this bicentennial quarter while getting some change. Amazingly, the only defects I can find is a couple of marks on the cheek bone. It also has some luster. I know it won’t be worth much, but at least more than a quarter. Thanks for the help!
Speaking of these quarters I have not got a bicentennial quarter in my loose change in quite a long time.
Funny thing is, folks hoarded these like crazy in '75/'76. The mint produced gazzillions. Sound like the one Your Cat got has been holed up in grannies or Uncle Johnny's stash, only to be turned loose due to hard times. Still a nice find though. If I had to give the old fella a value I'd say 60 cents......more than likely though, it's worth a quarter. :smile
It's really a nice design, and the coin you picture is lovely indeed. I've got quite a few myself, but they, quite honestly, (and in all probability) will never be worth very much. But you know what? The really fun part about collecting is not always about picking up something that's valuable...it's about getting something that appeals to you. I think that by you stating that you would hold onto this piece for another 30 years says something about you as a collector. :smile
